New School Year

The beginning of a new school year is an exciting time. Students meeting their teachers and seeing their friends again. They are getting back into the routine of school and studies.
I am pleased to welcome my fourth and fifth graders to class. We have a wonderful class of 29 students. We are eager to learn and make this a wonderful year.
Tonight was our parent orientation. I was thrilled to see so many parents attending. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me through the school numbers, the email or post a comment on this blog. Can't promise I'll check it every night, but there will be an update at least once a week.
Thanks for all the parent support I've received. It is truly appreciated and helpful to me. I want your child to know that the parents and teachers are a team, working to support the student.

We are beginning our mission projects/reports. The students received their books today. The books will stay in the classroom, but the directions for completing the models can be taken home. The students must complete either a project or a poster. Project kits are available at Michaels. Using a kit is OPTIONAL. Students are welcome to create their own mission projects. The board for the mission models should be no larger than 2 feet square. They will also receive an outline for the report. We will be doing a lot of the work in class, but students will be REQUIRED to do research outside of class. For the purpose of assisting the students with their research, I have created a custom search engine. Please feel free to access this search engine to assist your student. Download pictures to enhance your student's project.
